dead mobo?

i just got this GIGABYTE amd 790 fx chipset mobo with the 9850 BE combo from my local store. after i put everything in place, i turn it on and my monitor show nothing, it send no signal to the monitor

all the fan is still working

i cant turn the pc off after i turn it on

i reset the cmos with a jumper but it didnt help

Its possible you have a short. Have you tried booting with the board outside of the case?

short = short circuit on the motherboard

yeah, the only new stuff is the motherboard and cpu, also, i running it without a hdd, cd-rom, and floppy drive

so the only thing running is, mobo, cpu, psu, graphic card, and ram

The ram could also be dead too. The best way to figure out what is wrong is to use backup parts to narrow down the problem.

Since you pulled the PSU,GPU,RAM from a working system these components "should" be fine.

I would trying powering up the system outside of the case on a non-conductive surface.
If that fails, try using you old CPU in the new board. Maybe it needs a bios update to support the quad.
If that fails, you may want to try some different RAM, some boards are picky with what brand RAM you use.
