Where did you find their actual fail rate? I swear the Ultra Kaze's were only released around last August.

A fan's MTBF is something to factor in, especially for people who keep their PCs on 24/7, but I have yet to see anyone reap the benefits of keeping a fan for 5-10 years. It's something to think about when purchasing, but I don't think you should base a purchase on the "MTBF alone".

Edit: Peace of mind from your other post can certainly be weighed in.

I think someone over at xtremesystems did an analysis of the static pressure of several fans, including the UK. I'd try a search over there.

I didn't - but Mean Time Between Failure indicates that the fan has an average lifetime of whatever was stated. Some will last longer, some won't last as long. Just common sense really.
