Nvidia fanboy converted...

Thread Starter
i dont know anything about the ATI cards at all cuz ive only researched the Nvidia cards but theres no way i can justify buying a gtx280 for 50 bucks more than two 4870's in xfire for better performance. Is there any company that sells a better card than the others like how evga, bfg, pny, and xfx make nvidia cards. Or are there any that have a step up program or lifetime warranties?

Alot of people on here seem to be a big fan of VisionTek ATI cards due to their lifetime warranty. I don't believe there is a step-up program though.

I'm going with VisionTek for the lifetime warranty I think.
I've used Diamond and Sapphire cards in the past, and haven't had a single problem.
No step-up program though, unfortunately, but ATI's lineup seems to be much smaller than Nvidia's so I don't find it to be as much of an issue.

If this series turns out to be a really big sucess for ATI, I don't think better vendors/support is out of the question.

Lol, yea I'm going to be a convert as well. The 7600GT has had it's day...time for retirement to the boneyard. The 4870 is a nice card indeed, and more than lived up to the hype.

AFAIK Visiontek is the only lifetime warranty. ASUS offers 3 years and RMA with them is possible, even if a PITA. Most other companies only offer 1-year warranty, and I've heard horror stories about trying to get an RMA with the likes of Powercolor and HIS(nothing I can confirm for myself, just heard it). Sapphire and Diamond have good reputations in my book too.
