Thread Starter
Thanks again guys, this would have to be the first forum of any kind ive ever posted on where i havent been attacked for not knowing everything about the topic. lol.
Thanks Thlnk3r for your advice on Gigabyte Mobos. I have seen most options in the BIOS as when i first built this PC i had ramdom restart problems, sent it to Scorptec, they set the RAM voltage too high (2.2V instead of 2.1 for OCZ Platinum r22gk, there is a cheaper platinum that runs at 2.2V) so i spent a long time diagnosing this problem as Scorptec couldnt help and blamed the problem on faulty components sending back RAM and Mobo several times! I eventually got the info i needed to fix this (from OCZ), but spent a lot of time in BIOS looking for it, and along the way learning Gigabytes wierd BIOS setup.
Stupid thing is i bought the RAM from Scorptec, yet they didnt realise which Platinum it was.
While im at it, another gripe im having with Scorptec is a faulty GPU (7900GTX) which i sent back 6 months ago! STILL waiting for them to get the replacement card which is supposed to be a 8800GTS which is great as im currently running one and could go SLI. I cut my losses on the 7900GTX and bought a 8800GTS as they were taking so long with the replacement.
OK, i feel better i got that off my chest. lol. No more *****ing from me about Scorptec.... for now
