Keep a low profile , always crouch unless running to cover , lay down when theres a good FOV. Use lean , if you think someone is behind a wall , fire a couple shots , if ur crosshair like show a little white cross , theres someone behind it , cut loose. Nades nades nades. And hardcore , I love hardcore mode.

Not sure what part of the world you're from, but for a tough server on the east coast, check out www.thespawnkillers.com. Those guys are good.
Okay, I'll keep an eye out for those servers, thank you. I am on the East Coast, yes.

Thanks for the replies to everyone else. I try not to play much more of HC or standard mode; keeps it interesting.

Personally, M4 silenced, Use the UAV Jammer, that way you never show up on the UAV,and thats a big advantage. No one knows where you are unless you show your face... never stay in the same spot twice, move...
A question: if I use the UAV Jammer without a silencer, and I fire, do I show up on radar? Or do they just hear me?

Uav jammer and bomb squad are pretty useless perks (unless S&D). The enemy might get a couple uav's in a round but you can run around and set traps as they come to check out the red spot. As for bomb squad there might be a couple claymores lying around but really, that spot could be used by other useful perks. Just my 2¢

For me the game is more about fun than realism, so I prefer normal games. I like that my opponent and I can take a few hits during a heated battle and still still try to out-manoever each other for the kill. In HC, it's the first guy that pulls the trigger that wins. I prefer more protracted battles.
I always take realism over fun in a good FPS game. If the game isn't realistic, it just can't be fun.

COD:4 is very close, except you have to play it on hardcore mode to really get something realistic.

Stick to the edges of the maps. Some of my favorite spots are when I'm against the edge of the map, crouching and leaning around cover.

I agree with sgt. collins. I stay in cover, then let me teammates point out the enemy. They die, I get the kills. When you know someone is close, DON'T SPRINT at all. That's probably my biggest weakness. I get caught sprinting too much. In close quarters and HC mode, those milli-seconds to stop and shoot are life or death.

I agree with pheobus as well. I play on a HC Backlot server with a ton of clan members and my HDR has practically doubled. It's tough at first, but if you adapt and learn what you have to, you will be pwning in no time! Good luck!

PS I love the M14 with red dot. HC mode with it is a one-shot kill almost anywhere!
