Overclocking the 8800gs 'overclocked edition'

Hi, just been overclocking for my first time and wondering if it's long term safe what I've done so far...

Got the Asus overclocked 8800gs (600mhz) and clocked it a further 10% to 660, after running AtiTool for 20 minutes didn't find any problems, also tried out 3dmark and looked out for anything abnormal but seems fine so far.

Also wondering how shader overclocking works, is it the same in it's limits and the rate at which you can increase at a time? Tried increasing it a small amount but AtiTools didnt seem to like it very much, kept restarting the test...

Not sure about the shader part...but as far as the Overclock itself...you should be fine.

My XFX 8800GS has stock settings at 580MHz...and I run it daily at 685MHz...It's stable all the way up to 710MHz or so. I'm guessing the Asus should have similar abilities.

That's good to hear, might try pushing it a little bit further then, what did you clock the memory to by the way?

Think I'll leave shaders alone for now though, could just be a bug with atitools but would rather not risk it.
