MCR320 + A.C.Ryan Radgrillz anyone? **SOLVED**

Has anyone also done this? I just picked up a Swifty triple to and found that the holes on the grill didn't really match up with those on the rad. I know A.C.Ryan says the holes need to be made larger but I had to go all the way to a 1/4" and even then a couple of the rad holes were barely lined up. I thought I read about someone else on here having troubles with the MCR and the grill. Anyone else?

I'm have a similar question. I printed off the template for the AC ryan radgrillz and measured the holes and I don't think they will line up with a Black Ice GTX240 im planning on getting.

Here's from the Performance PCs product page for the RadGrillz:

Quote:
**Please note that the fan screw holes are purposely made on the small side so that they can be enlarged with a drill to the correct screw size and slightly to either side of the screw hole to cover more radiator installations. RadGrillz have been found to work fine with Hardware Labs (Black Ice) and Swiftech Radiators but, not the Thermochills. **
At stock size (6-32 screw will fit), there is NO WAY you're going to get that grill on the rad without seriously bending the rad or grill. I moved my way up the drill bits until I landed on 1/4". Seems like a lot of fuss to get it to work right.

EDIT: Although I was just enlarging the holes in their existing location and not trying to offset them.

I found the answer to my question. Apparently somewhere along the line Swiftech decided to modify the spacing between the fans on their rads. Hardware Labs and Swiftech both used to space the holes between fans at 15mm while Thermochill was the black sheep at 24.5mm. HW and Thermalchill still use their respective spacing but Swiftech has moved their spacing to 19mm between fans. A.C.Ryan Radgrillz space their holes at 15mm so the Swiftech will be off by almost an entire hole across a triple rad.

where did you get that info? i had issues with my radgrill too, but when i measured my MCR320 the space between the holes were 15mm, maybe i have an old version but even so my radgrill didnt fit well either..

I pulled the info off another site but confirmed it right on Swiftech's product page for the MCR320QP. The diagram shows 19mm while the Hardware Labs diagrams show 15mm. After posting this, I checked the spacing on my MCR220 and MCR320 and it seems that they're 15mm too if not a little less. Interesting since I had such a time trying to get the grill on...

same, i previously followed Swiftechs dimensions which were horrible off.
i went home and measured my mcr320, mcr220, 360GTX, and they all come
out to be 15mm, about .59" and i also got dimensions off of acryans site
(the template) and the spacing between the fan holes are .64" which lies the
problem.

conclusion

ACRYAN's got the fan spacing wrong, we need .59" they give us .64"

Well that explains it then. I printed out a template for rad grill and measured against my two MCRs. The holes on the radiators are in fact 15mm but the grill is spaced slightly further. Dang you ACRyan you're lucky I had all those drill bits!!
