funny on the graph how the 4870 scores more but the bars are still shorter than the 9800GTX.

Sometime in August, the specific date has yet to be announced. Just be careful about BIOS flashing and you should be good to go.

Sorry(pet peeve)

Anyway it seems that most folks with bad 4870's are folks flashing it and as said above there is a fix. I personally have always liked how smooth of a transition the Nvidia drivers have when swapping multiple monitor, resolutions, and enable/disabling other monitors. My 3870x2 just doesn't do that as well. Frame rates are amazing but most games I play don't support dual gpu's making the 4870 a winner hands down. I am more than willing to save 350.00USD at the cost of a few fps.

Not even your $600+ GX2 and your $650.00 dollar 280GTX card you want vs a $300.00 card... My point.... And I can see it now they have a FIX for this already but the FAN BOYS (NVIDIA) will eat this up saying all of the 4870 are broken... And FYI I never owned a ATI card before this will be my first. Not a fan boy just tired of paying for Nvidia high price cards already.

IMO the nvidia 200 series is the first really overpriced nvidia cards, you act like this has been happening forever, keep in mind the 8800GT was considered the best deal for more then a whole year.

Nvidia just got too full of it's self and needed a reality check, which ati gave it.

The 8800GT has been out for 8 months, so how could it have been "the best deal for more than a whole year." Exaggerations ftw!
