nice I still remember the few fireworks shows that we put on during the first few months of the game.

Hey DarkFury, if you think your toon was like having a job, you should have been playing my account. I literally had a ton of harvesters down in the same spot that would just harvest whatever had the highest concentration in that area. It took me 2 hours just to go empty the harvesters and pay their maintenance every 3 days. I was spending 20k per 3 days on those harvesters. Luckily though, I had built my 2nd machine so it really helped out to have both machines on and one grinding out all the crafting professions so I didn't really need anyone's help anymore and could do most of it on my own. OMG I still remember with Armorsmith having to get my entire PA to bring me 10k of any awesome wooly hide for making some composite armor. I think my best set of composite was 85% sliced with 30% stun resist.

I think I literally played that game almost 6 hours a day everyday and majority of that time was spent crafting, organizing all my houses, and making my factories run. I think I had 4 clothing factories and 4 food factories for my doc and chef and they were pretty much all running 24/7. I believe I would actually make almost 2 mil a day doing nothing but running missions just to pay for everything.

Yup.. that sounds like my toon right there. Honestly, I spent so much time researching where the "good harvesting points" were (there was a website out there that was constantly updated on where the good stuff was...) I pretty much lived a SWG life...

That's why it was so hard for me to turn my back on SWG when they made all the radical changes... but once I left, I never looked back.

I agree there. I used that website all the time. I spent alot of time updating that site with lots of waypoints. SWGCraft.com Definitely one of the best sites ever besides OCN

I am a SWG vet also. I played on Tarquinas from October '03 and stayed until the NGE was announced. I never really liked the CU but played it some, much less than Pre-CU where I played just about everyday. My char name was Imed Rary (was an auto-generated name) and I started as a marksman on my home planet of Naboo. My first friend in game was a smuggler and I loved her FWG-5 so I went for pistoleer as my first elite profession. I was a rebel from the beginning also.

After becoming a master pistoleer, I was helping a friend of mine grind professions for jedi holocron's, I saw how cool the melee professions were and decided to add fencer to my pistoleer for some defense stacking. It made for a tough char that could fight several people at once but not much offense. I saw how cool TK was and decided to go all melee, TKM, Master Fencer, and the rest medic.

I really miss that game, it was so much fun, great people, great friends. I really hope there is something to the rumor of bio-ware and kotor online.

I think the way SWG was originally done with the skill based system and the player crafting economy was the best way to do an mmorpg. I can't get into any other MMO game that doesn't have that type of system.

I agree with that statement 100%. I have yet to be able to even play 1 MMO and have fun since SWG. I miss crafting and all the crap we had to do. Hell I even miss putting up with my guild's bs on a daily basis.

After SWG... I moved on to "City of Heroes"... and SWG was quickly forgotten.

However... 3 years into CoH/CoV and I have now even moved on from there. I don't play any MMOGs anymore.

my best friend in game was the #1 chef on our server and I always harvested for him. we used swgcraft.com to know where the best spawns were for carnivore meat for making vercupti (buff food).

I tried a few other MMO's after SWG but none of them were close to how good swg was pre-cu.

This game really looked like something I could get into, but everyone is pretty adamante that CU and NGE ruined the game. That and the free 14 day trial thing refuses to download correctly and always corrupts.

But this looks like a game I could have played.

Way back when, you would have loved it and you're not missing anything with that 14 day trial. If it's like it was when the NGE first came out, you're stuck on a space station and there's only a few missions and then that's it and if you want to go down to the surface of naboo you have to pay to end your trial. Not exactly what I call a trial. The old 14 day trial actually let you interact with the players and people and play the game. You had a bank limit and only 2 lots so you could put down a house and that seemed to work well.

But once they finish the emulator, someday, you might get to see it again.

I have been waiting on that emulator so long....I think bio-ware and Kotor online will be out before it!
