Voltage question regarding E6600

Hello. I have a E6600 with a XFX 680i LT board atm...
i got my clock speed to 3GHz. the temperature is around 36-38 idle and 46-48 under full load, but the voltage is currently at 1.408v to 1.416v.

is it necessary to get the voltage down?

More voltage creates more heat.

Best scenario is to get the lowest voltage at the clock speed you are comfortable with.

You'll need to run OCCT, Orthos, or Prime95 to get it (the system) stable at the lowest voltage you can set.
