Vendetta 2 vs TRUE? - Page 2

Thanks for all the responses. Another followup question I just thought of regarding mounting. the p182 has rear and top fans and I can mount the cpu fan exhausting out in either direction. I'm thinking since hot air rises that out the top makes more sense. Regarding orienting the fan, is there a preference to have the fan pushing or pulling air through the heatsink if that's even an option?

I'd probably just go with the TRUE because of the better mounting system. Bolt down FTW

I'm finishing a build for my sister in a p182 and you can exhaust out either fan. It's generally better to push the air through the fans than pull it out in my experience. As far as having enough room with the TRUE (since you had mentioned), you'll be fine. The case is quite roomy and very nice. I'm jealous of you for the case...lol.

I like my Xigmatek a lot. I don't have any experience with either the TRUE or the Vendetta 2. I mainly got my Xigmatek because of the price but I also didn't want to have to lap a TRUE in order to get a decent contact surface (I had to do that with the Freezer 64 Pro I put into my Mom's computer and it was a huge PITA) and I didn't really consider the Vendetta 2. Looking at pictures, however, it does look like the fins on the Vendetta 2 might be a bit bigger than the Xigmatek and thus cool a bit better.

Here's a test with a QX6850 o'cd with various coolers:

I've decided to go for the vendetta 2. I couldn't beat the price from amazon. Is it recommended to use the TIM supplied with the heatsink or should I stick with the mx-2? I could save yet another few dollars and return the mx-2.

Ouch, a 10 degree celsius difference at load? I thought it was supposed to be on par...

Stick with the MX-2 for the 3-5C less on load, but then again if you're low on cash, go ahead and return it.

Doesn't matter. he's using a E8400 not a 130 Watt heat pig. With a decent cooler hell burn it with volts before he roasts it.

If he only wanted to keep it within tolerable temps he wouldn't be going high-end cooling in the first place. He wants to know which cools better.
