Who's killing their Q6600 G0? - Page 3

Is there any research that states how a chips life degrades based upon the Vcore pumped into it?

Example: An exponential graph. Like not hurt until around 1.5, then after that is doubles in shorter life?

There's people whom push these chips to 4Ghz and beyond, yet only for benching purposes...
The question still stands; who here is killing their Q6600 - pushing these chips above 60+ degrees or 1.6+ vcore for 24/7 use?

Well I've been on 1.55v (bios) for the last 3months (or there abouts).
I'm currently running Prime on it at 9x410 = 3690Mhz. So far so good, 22mins @ 59 degrees.
With my Q6600 and ultra 120 lapped - I'm finding a big difference on load more so than at idle. I would have been sitting on 65+ degrees by now.

Oh, and its Winter here in Australia. Helps having 15-17 degrees room temps

P.S. I had 3.6 at 8x450. However I was having troubles going beyond 450FSB on my setup, so I reverted to 9x410.

I think Q6600s are ok to 72°c. Mine is at 51, folding now.

1.5v yeilds 3.5Ghz (ish)

I don't think I've ever read about someone killing their Q6600 from voltage/temps.

My chip takes 1.44 to do 3.42, and 1.34 to do 3.21. And my vid is 1.325. Sigh. Load temps are around 50c. I'm afraid to run more than 1.5. That just scares me.

not a Q6600 per say but it's a X3220...same thing pretty much.
Currently running at 1.41@3.6ghz 24/7...so far rock stable, can possibly go a bit lower in voltage maybe..haven't tried much higher but 3.7 boots into windows, but wasn't too stable and I haven't tweaked that.

on previous motherboards ( gigabyte P35 DS3P and a 750i FTW) I needed 1.4375 just to hit 3.5ghz...asus rocks

The most I ever gave my q6600 was 1.6 V to hit 4 Ghz, and temps were in the high 50s low 60s.

I did however, put 1.725 V into a Celeron 420 to break a whopping 3.4 Ghz . It was truly a terrible chip.
