Yup, and nVidia has to charge $650 for a card with no profit margin just to compete with the performance of one $300 ATI card that makes money hand over fist. Besides, 2 RV770 cores roughly equal the surface area of one GTX280 and still costs less!

I do actually. It was benchmarked with immature drivers and gained a poor reputation because of it, despite being very close to, if not equal to, the 9800GX2 on many occasions with mature drivers.

Dual Core > Single Core, I don't see you running a Core Solo or a Athlon 64 non x2, do I?

I think what he is trying to say is that the 280 is so awesome, that the 4870x2 has to have 2 cores to beat it. What he seems to miss is that the 4870x2 not only beats it, it doubles the performance of the 280.

Well geez, it looks like I'll have to add this to my wish list. I probably shouldn't bother because I'm sure this card will be overkill for a 22" monitor. If I can land one in the $450 range, though, I'll be all over it! Maybe a Christmas present to myself ...
