OCN Fonts Look Weird In FF3

Thread Starter
Hi all,
Sorry is this is me being a total eejit, but I'm just somewhat irritated by firefox. I prefer IE7 (No flaming please) and I have to use FF for the moment on my linux install. Anyway, to me the fonts on this site look totally different, they look smaller and bolder and more joined together than in IE7, in short it makes the site much harder to read. . Is this a Linux thing or a Firefox thing or a OCN thing, but the font is really irritating (I have attatched a screenie). Google looks normal and changing fonts in FF preference did nothing.
Please help me find a solution
Those who help will be rewarded

Thanks mate
Thats exactly how mine looks in IE7/Vista. Now its either some wird setting or its Ubuntu's fault.

It's because of your Linux. It changes the font of everything.

Those might work.

Try going to Preferences > Content > Under fonts, Click Advanced > See if "allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above" is checked or not. If it isn't check it.

Fixed, Thankyou .
I unchecked let pages use their own fonts and it was fine. I'm going to download the MS truetype font package in a bit and re-enable it. I think OCN has a windows font specified that FF can't find because there are only linux fonts installed.

Here's the thing: IE7 makes your fonts look ugly. Most linux distributions use "free" fonts because the Microsoft ones you are used to are not open source. You can still download them by typing:
Code:
sudo apt-get install msttcorefonts
The problem has nothing to do with Firefox. But it's worth noting that IE7 and Safari actually mess with fonts to "blend" them. (I personally don't like it.) Firefox doesn't seem to mess with fonts, except for fixing some spacing issues, apparently.
