why do u want to exchange it, not happy with the performance? or was it just bought to test out until the 4870s were available.

Like any employee at BestBuy is going know what Artifacting or Overclocking means.

Just say "ITS BROKE" and the wonderful highly trained GeekSquad agents will exchange it.

It seems to me that the visiontek cards have a lower voltage setting on the bios. Some have been able to OC higher using the MSI bios and some other modded bios's .

Keep in mind the voltage range set in these bios is very limited and you still need to pencil/hard mod to OC past around 720. ( as of now OC past 700 is only workable through editing the bios clocks).

hope this helps.
I did the fan speed fix And noticed that in my xml profile file there was a setting for voltage... I wonder if I can up that voltage to get a better overclock... What kind of incerments would you suggest moving the voltage to test?

Well, my 8800GT ran everything pretty smoothly, but oddly enough, it stuttered in WoW every few minutes (randomly as well, not just in high load areas). Although now I cranked all my game settings up (CoD4 for example) and it just runs so smoothly. And with the fan speed profile fix, the temps are bearable as well (idling at 49-52c).

So far, the 4850 is an amazing card, especially for it's price range. The only issues I see now are the lack of mature drivers, and no Rivatuner support (yet)!

Well I needed a card that day and the 4870's were online but not in stores and the 4850 was. So, 30 day return policy on the 4850 (Which is a great card) but I do really want a 4870, and if 29 days after I have my 4870 the 4870X2 comes out, well crap - I'll probably return the 4870 for it lol.

The addiction must be fed.

Well, according to a few people, VisionTek actually has a lower stock voltage than the other vendors which explains the low OC wall. Some still OC well, so maybe I'll see if third time is a charm Although really don't feel like driving out to BB to get another one.
