hey guys, im getting ready to buy a new processor and motherboard, i want to spend around 150 i found this

ive been amd for a while and am a little rusty with my intel, whats the difference between a pentium d and a core 2 duo, is this a good deal? overclockable? i know a pentium d was the first to break 4 GHZ.

help please.

Core 2 Duo runs circles around Pentium D

pentium D is older tech. C2D are a newer/better architecture
I would spend around 75 on the motherboard which leaves you enough cash for an E2180 or E2160 which are entry-level C2D processors.
will you be gaming?
