[Oktabit] Phenom 9950 Review (3.5GHz OC!) - Page 5

ok... So far I am at 1.45 and 16.5 multiplier. Current Idle Temp is 45 C 51 under medium stress. Here is the Numbers so far.

Mine is the 140 Watt Version. I personally think its a better Processor but what do I know. Im from AaaLabama... LOL

I am not skeptical about the 3.5+ghz, But I am skeptical about the stock cooler.

And even the Motherboard doesn't surprise me being an old SB600...Honda guy has a SB600 and hit 3.6ghz under XP and I think water (if not mistaken).

I think he just got "GOOD" individual Parts and some form of Aftermarket cooling.

The 3.3 wasnt stable with the Futuremark 06 CPU number one test. It froze up. I tried multiple different voltage bumps and dropped my memory down but still no 17.5 multiplier. 16.5 with 200 was the best I could get but wasn't super stable. It would run until stressed and then .................Freeze up. and no restart. Had to hold down the power button for 5 sec. and then turn off the PSU and then restart into the bios.. Thank God. anyway the 1.47 increased my personal system up 6 degrees Idle and 10 degrees Celcius when stressed. Im back to 15.5x 208= 3224. Im happy.. After all Im on the SB600 and using the Old 9950. LOL. After my 9600 Grey Edition I'm Happy to be over 3Ghz with 2008 HT and my 800 mhz ram is running at 1108 mhz

Can anyone explains me how they managed to raise the multiplier?
Maybe i'm wrong about this, but aren't they locked on AMD cpu's?

Not the Black Edition CPU's, they do not have a locked multi.

I would love to look at that Greeks Build Sheet. And I don't believe the 3.5. Unless that new SB is that great. He probably had to hurry and get the Validation before it Crashed on Him.
