Reapplied as5 and I got 43/40/42/36 idling. Max temps in real temp after 10mins OCCT are 58/53/56/53. Still seems high for stock. Will go for 3ghz and see what happens.

Yeah these temps can't be right. I lapped both and added another fan for push pull and idle in RealTemp 2.60 is still 44/40/41/36. This is out of case too. The odds of the temps not dropping 5C after all this has to be very very low. Only thing left to do is do away with is push pins and go bolt through but judging by how hard it is to get the pins in I doubt there is loose contact there. Or change HSFs. I guess the only good news is that at 3ghz the idle temps stay the same and the max load temps are 62/58/62/57. It averages around 58/55/57/54 during load. Maybe the proc isn't flat enough or the temps aren't right. The one at 36 stays there and never moves compared to the other three.

Edit: Should add that thermostat for house is set to 75 and this room is probably 1-3F warmer. However my prescott is cooler then this in same room. I really wanted to see everything fall to 36C idle. Who says sand the CPU some more???

Idle temps dont mean crap, my idle temps are 45/43/46/44. At times it goes border 50C. but thats with all my fans at lowest speed. the temp u gotta worry bout is load temp. i dropped about 3-5C at load bringing it to 61/58/61/59 now(full fan speed). before it was like 63-65C loaded.

Benching apps never see me go over 55C on any core. My bios sets vcore to 1.2 by default. Might be a little high for my stock clock. I think I've seen someone running 3ghz with 1.175.

Edit: Coming from a p4 3.0 and a 6600gt this machine is a shock even at stock. Once that initial phase goes away it will be time to push it.
