New parts on the way!!

Thread Starter
Ok so I just bought my new system, and its on its way to me.

My current rig is the one in my sig. This is a board/cpu upgrade.

I will be going to an e8400, on a p5n32-e SLI motherboard. Board has the 680i chipset I believe. Board also has aftermarket heatpipe/fan chipset coolers (stock heatpipes removed)

Now, the point to this thread. Am I going to notice a difference? Mostly referring to games. I run 8800GT SLI @ 713mhz...

How high will I be able to OC up to on this board, roughly?

I doubt that you will notice much difference at all gaming. Other areas of computing it will be far more noticeable, and if you run 3DMark06 you will see a very nice increase. I bet you will be able to get that e8400 up to 3.4-3.6 with that setup, and maybe even higher.

Yeah, gaming-wize, you won't see a big performance increase. Maybe 1 or 2FPS if you're lucky. Mainly, like euphoricmix said, you will see a 3Dmark increase.
