how good are these fans?

Pretty good, but I would get the 88cfm/33dba. 33dba ain't that loud, though if you want a silent pc those are fine.

I suggest you buy those fans off Jab-tech as its cheaper than Newegg, plus they don't charge tax to us Californians .

Yates I think many people like because there cheaper than other fans($4-6) and push pretty good CFM.

I'm personally going to have (6)110cfm slipstreams and (1)133cfm Ultra kaze for the TRUE.

I like the Silverstone FM121, a little pricey but 110cfm at almost same dba as those scythe. Plus their sexy white I should have gotten kaze for cpu though...

I agree, the 88cfm/33dba/1600rpm Slipstream is the way to go. You can always undervolt it to 1200rpm if you want more silence. I use mine as my back exhaust...it you use one as front intake it may be just a tad louder. Also consider the Scythe S-Flex F...a bit pricier but will last longer.

They're not bad, but if you want the best noise:CFM ratio fans, get some Noctua NF-P12's.
