I used it all the time, now I have to settle for no EQ. Another problem with Vista, my sound card driver automatically start at -57.3dB, and I have to turn it back to 0.0dB every time the computer starts. That didn't happen in XP x64, either. And these two issues are only the icing on the cake -- I've been having much more serious hardware problems since moving to vista, not to mention the other software issues.

I would vote go Vista.

Check Ebay, when I needed x64 Vista, I looked on Ebay and got x64 Vista Ultimate for $80, just make sure to only get x64, as it saves a bit of some money.

Heck my mothers computer I built for her with 1gb of RAM and a Pentium 4 w/HT @ 3.0 ghz ran a tad slow, but it certainly wasn't much of an inconvenience for the work and web surfing it does.

I bought the vista ultimate upgrade from Microsludge today for a whooping 100 bucks (normally 180)(microsoft at home contract + military appreciation ftw?!)

I've had worse problems in x64 then you'd believe with compatability. Lost ALL support for my old games and VMware was buggy. Lost support for several devices that I wanted to use but no longer could. Installers wouldn't work properly. iTunes gave me some stupid error everytime I started it about being 32 bit and when you tried to install 64 bit it'd yell that you weren't running a 64 bit os. x64 WAS a great OS when vista was still brand new. But so far I haven't had ANY issues in vista because the support is there finally. XP x64 is still a pretty rare system to come across when you consider all things. XP 32 bit is a BIGGIE because it was the major release back in 2001(?) Then longhorn (pre-vista) was announced and they started working on that. after a good portion of XP's lifecycle was over with, XP x64 was produced but I never really saw any advertisment of it. It was sort of an operating system that was made "Because we could" if that makes sense. Support was always on the low end until Vista x64 came out then suddenly support for XP x64 came to blinding high.
