Samsung , Sharp, are manufacturers i would recommend.
Someone said 1080i and 180p are differnt res. Thats wrong. Dont get caught up in all the hype and marketing BS. Anyone looking at a tv and saying they look like crap at the store is probably viewing it too close anyway. If its 480 you gotta be a ways back to not see the NORMAL distortion you would see, run the same pic at 720 and basically cut that distance in half, run it at 1080 approximately half again, pt is it can be 1080 and look crappy cause your too close. screen size also plays an important role there too.

seeing that your talking about a 30 something inch screen , its gonna support 1080 nowadays anyway, who cares about P its bs anyway marketing give thewm more money for nothing. I dont wanna get any ones panties in a bunch but , whats the difference, can the human eye even percive the difference i dont know if its even possible. Marketing at its best True HD is the new thing so is everyone gonna mount 14 speakers in their living rm. Not me i can say that much.
I would say get a aquous, you will be happy with it, if the models ar4ent astecically pleasing get a samsung. Panasonic is a consumer reports best buy. That by no means makes it an excellent tv. i have installed plenty of them but basically consumer reports says this is the best bang for the buck.
