I need an X48 board that scales very well in crossfire and overclocks like a beast as I will be taking my Q6600 to 4.2GHz for benching Im currenty looking at these:

DFI LP LT X48-T2R LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136046

Pros: Dedicated Sound card, Good northbridge cooling, Its DFI
Cons: Its green, Has BIOS issues

GIGABYTE GA-X48-DS4 LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128336

Pros: Gets great reviews. Very overclockable. Nice colors.
Cons: Poor northbridge cooling. Only has 1 to choose from.

GIGABYTE GA-X48-DQ6 LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128331

Pros: Easy overclocker. Very solid board. Great quality.
Cons: Only has 1 bios to choose from. Poor northbridge cooling.

Right now I'm leaning towards the GIGABYTE GA-X48-DS4 . Any comments/suggestions?

Why not an X38?

My asus P5E was only $200 and is essentially a rebadged maximus formula.

X48 scales better in Crossfire by a few frames. I don't mind spending an extra $50 to squeeze a bit of performance out.

whered you get that info from. i think you are mixing up x38 with p45. CF with x38/x48 outperform CF with P45 because x38/x48 is 16x/16x CF while P45 is 8x/8x in CF.

Get the DFI - its a brilliant mobo. It looks great and has a massive amount of bios options, so you can tweak basically anything. Very stable aswell

What bios issues have you heard that it has, because i have had no problems with my one.

I would get the Biostar p45 instead, its like 100$ cheaper. And it has SLI.

There was a motherboard review thats compared FPS from a crossfire setup on a X38 and an X48. The X48 managed to get 2-3 frames more than the X38.

True, but it only has half the bandwidth of the x48. The ATI 4800 series are very bandwidth hungry. I think I will jump on the DS4 unless someone wants comment on this board or a different one.
