Can I run it?

I may be getting some extra money soon, so I can possibly afford a HD4870, once I get a new motherboard + Hard Drive (Gigabyte GA-P43-DS3L and Hitachi 320Gb), anyway, I was wondering whether my PSU will be able to handle a HD4870, it has 18amps on both +12v rails, and two 6pin connectors, which comes up to the minimum that Guru3D says is needed, but I wanted to ask the people who use the cards everyday, should my crappy, cheap 550w PSU be good enough for a HD4870? (If not, I have a 400w and a 350w I can use to power motherboard, hard drives, fans, etc).

Ok then, so I may as well spend the money on a good PSU, I may as well spend it all and get a HD4870x2 later, if I can find the money for that.. Oh well, at least I'll have a good PSU.

Nah, I only have AU$520, AU$200 is going to mobo and Hard Drive, And I was going to get the HD4870 for AU$320, Here the HD4850 goes for about AU$220-$230, and AU$100 isn't enough to get a good PSU.

the psu is the one component you cannot skimp on. if u think about it all other components rest on it. If u have a crappy spu u never know how many other parts it'll take down when it gets over loaded
do yourself a favor man pull out the stopper and get a good quality brandname psu

Yeah, I was wondering that, this PSU holds my 6800GS fine for now, and the P43 I'm getting is a cut down version of the P45, overclocks nearly as well, and I don't need a high FSB, only 800Mhz on memory and good timings.
