DFI x48: LT or UT? & Heatsink Compatibility

Thread Starter
Hey OCN,
I'm thinking of buying an open box mobo, but I'm really not sure what to get. UT has JMicron compatibility, but I think I really don't want to spend extra buck just for that. I'll be running Q6700 and HD 4850.
  1. Still, what's the difference between LT and UT?
  2. For all openbox items, there's no guarentee that the accessories will be present. But I'm kinda concerned about the NB heatsink. Is it essential?
  3. Will this Heatsink fit on either mobo?

The only difference is the cooling setup. The board itself is exactly the same, and you can even see on the LT where the UT's external cooling heatpipe would exit the back I/O plate through the MOSFET heatsink

Yeah the boards are exactly the same. The only difference is the supplied heatsink.
