AMD 4200+ @ 2.5-2.6ghz - Page 2

Okay some OCing problems you are going to have right up front, that I should have mentioned earlier.

1. ECS sucks, the reason your stuff is locked is because they don't allow much OCing on their mobos, the main reason you won't see many people with them around here.
2. With a "cheap $10 fan" on what I assume is the stock heatsink you aren't going to be able to OC very much, you shouldn't hit 50C until 20-30 minutes into an OCCT run depending on ambient temps
3. Well there isn't really a three, those first two are the kickers.

The only real good 6100 mATX MB for OCing was Biostar in the 939 days that I recall off.
AM2, there are a few mATX that OC well... Biostar and Gigabyte
7025 and 7050 chip set.

Check to see your specific MB model is listed, a modded BIOS will undo those locked options in most cases .

Its YOUR option, neither myself or OCN has or accepts any responsibility for what you do.

Well the bios is updated, but I still cannot change the vcore, ill shutdown and test some things out and get back to you all.

By the way, thanks for all the replies.

EDIT: Didn't realise there was a second page.

OK read those replies and yeah it helps. I will try some of those things. And no I do not have a stock cooler, when I bought my CPU it did not have one. I have a TR2-R1 which did cost $10. I will change my system info to reflect that.

Okay

But that still doesn't solve the mobo problem, no bios updates are probably going to fix that unless you can find a hacked one.

True, but after reading your post of it not supposed to hit 50c for about 20m I am a little...worried, I am going to reseat the heatsink and use some new thermal compound.

After that I will go search for a modded bios.

I might have been a tad overzealous when I said that, but it certainly shouldn't be hitting it until about 5 minutes or so.
