What cable do I need?

Thread Starter
I have a 150GB WD Raptor hard drive and another 250GB hard drive. they were both working fine, but my motherboard died and I gave it to my moms friend who built my PC, and when I got it back I didn't see the the 250GB showing up, so I checked it and theres only 2 cables in it and not 3 like the other hard drive. There is no cable going into the Power supply!

Which cable do I need to buy? There is so many different kinds i dont know which i need.

here is the Hard Drive

there should only be 2 cords going into the hard drive. One straight from the PSU (the power) and 1 coming from the mobo for the data transfer. You shouldn't need anything special at all. You PSU has plenty of SATA power connectors. If you dont have the data cable for the HDD, just pick one of them up.

This is the data cable:

the first one goes from harddrive to motherboard....one from raptor to motherboard and one from the 250GB to the motherboard.......since you have two harddrives you'll need two of the ones in second picture(one for each drive) coming from the psu

It comes right out of your psu. hold on, and i'll post a pic for you.

They are the ones that say SATA power connectors.

I also noticed that the link you posted for your PSU (the one i got the above pic from) is not the same as the PSU in your sig. Which is right?
