What cable do I need? - Page 3

Does it show up in your BIOS as being connected? If it isn't, then there's a problem with one of the two connections. Otherwise, maybe a driver? I had a problem with a driver on my Vista machine a couple weeks ago about it not having a driver for the drive. Once I updated that, my drive showed up again. (Didn't show in Device Manager prior to the driver update)

You only need the SATA power connector going from the PSU to the HD and a SATA cable going from mobo to HD. See pictures attached by Vlasov_581

Edit: ignore my post, i skipped the second page lol... sry

Did you check the jumpers on the back of the drives to see if they were conflicting with each other? I had this problem with CD-ROM drives once that caused one not to work in my mom's computer and changing the jumper to the correct pins got it working next boot.

Make sure there aren't more than one set to master. I believe slave can be as many drives as you'd like.

I honestly don't know what the jumpers are / where they are, and I don't know how to set the drive as master / slave as well!

help is appreciated!
