Quad core, ABSOLUTELY NOT worth the investment. - Page 3

If you have a quad core, pretty much everything you do on your comp is gonna be faster.
Besides, quads don't cost mad($500+) amounts of money anymore, and your computer is not going to be obsolete when everyone gets a quad core and all new programs are optimized for them.

That's completely different. Games use both cores in the gpu, but in a quad core, only a handful of games use all the cores.

Bad example, i wasn't referencing the fact that bot had more than one core, more of the future-proofing value.

Did I miss something. (QX9770 = godlike!) When was 1 core been better than 2 in the longrun. So NOW, why is 2 cores better than 4? Four cores will win in the longrun. So what if you don't use all the cores now. Within the next 2 years, you will be using all those cores.

actually having a quad gains nothing in crysis at all. its all about GPU power.

Cool I wanna post!

But he's right, anyone who buys a quad is a complete idiot who just wastes all his money on pure futureless junk.

Thank god I got two dual cores....fused together...on the same die....errr...

ROFL this thread can go so many ways. BUT from a FOLDING point of view,

i'd say: Quad folding > dual core folding

Lol, you wanna get rid of your "pure futureless junk"? Thought not. Oh well... I'm stuck w/ my dual core for a while longer.
