  1. will it have any problems with a sata dvd burner?
  2. will it have any problems with vista 64?
  3. will it have any problems with a raid?
  4. will it have any problems with an e8400 and oc'ing it?
  5. will it have any problems with a 9800gtx, and maybe go sli someday?
  6. how prevalent is the vid corruption thingy?
I will respond via per number

1. No, this was fixed with P03 BIOS, the latest version is P06
2. Nope, I love my 780i and Vista 64! Boots in 15 seconds
3. Nope, I have RAID and love it - there was a small issue with RAID on 790i board but that was also fixed
4. http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...eenshots/2.jpg
5. Not as far as I know
6. Video Corruption only happened on HDMI as far as I know. And its about gone on P06 BIOS so be sure to update

I repeat.... I did not run into a FSB hole at all.
Great news, hopefully FSB holes are a thing of the past.

ya, i'll have to think about if i want the 750i or the 780i. it's annoying that newegg just upped the price on the 780i again, it was down to $230 and they put it back up to $270 (minus a $30 rebate, but still) well, i guess if i do go for the 780i i'll just have to wait 'til the price drops again.

@freeroller- wow, nice oc. what kind of temps do you get at that?

also, i've kinda been trolling around these forums for awhile before i joined up and remember that back when robilar first got his 780i he said to get a antec spotcool for teh nb if ur usin' a true, which i plan on usin', but now i see it isn't in that thread anymore. why is that? should i still get one if i'm gonna use a true? if so, how quiet are they? thx guys

Im on liquid cooling right now but on load with an 85*F ambient it reaches 69*C

On a good day when ambient are 79-81*F... I load around 55-60*C

Mind you at this point with this processor its not voltage that is a concern... its the frequency that generates so much heat god 4400mhz and this thing is scorching hot!

I need to get a lower ambient of like 75 lol..

akmudded, you might want to have a look at my evga 780i overclocking guide (in my sig).

I was very impressed with the board.

that said, as mentioned above the evga 750i is also excellent and much cheaper.

You might read my last post as I'm trying to get it more clocked (above2.5) and still able to work. You say set the Ram Voltage I assume to stock V. V- core is that your CPU voltage? I've tried myself 1.33

Your north and south bridge run pretty hot.The actualy board is poorly made and not flat. They dont really make all the water block pc's you need to really cool this board.Even with the block's.

The HS cooling the bridges is expensive to replace and is one pc.You have to replace the whole thing. If you do buy one.You will want to replace the stock fan with a spot cool or I think a 60mm fan.I went with a 120 shroud and a 120 fan blowing directly on it. Till I get the Viper John kit.

Id stear you toward a X48 board or roll the dice with a 750.I really regret going with this 780 board.

It dosent matter what HS you use your gonna want to replace the stock fan.Its very noisy and has high temp's.

There big fix was adjusting the padding that was getting between the HS and the board. The board isnt flat so not all of the HS touch's what needs to be cooled.
