Help w/ Q6700 O

I finally think I have my processor stable at 3.2, no errors in P95 after 1 hour but my NB and SB are at 52 and 45 and according to Asus PC-Probe which comes software bundled (I have an Asus Rampage Formula) I am running pretty hot. The NB goes red with a heat alert at 45 degrees and normally idles at 42 when I had no OC going. I don't have the NB or SB voltage upped at all, just the FSB at 320 and the strapping at 333. The CPU's volt is set to 1.4 and it's reading at 1.31 the ram I have set to 2.0

Also, what could cause me to boot fine in windows and have p95 start giving errors in work threads almost 10 seconds after starting when I had the FSB at 350? I have no problem with being 3.2GHz but I see people with 6700s at 3.8 even.

*Editing in here that after some tests the resulting temps have dropped. So everything seems so far so good.*

you should be good to 360 fsb x 10(or 400x9 or 450 x 8 depending how you want to ramp your fsb ) ,
1.4-1.4125 vcore ,
nb 1.45-1.55
southbridge auto
cpu pll volt 1.6-1.7
fsb term volts 1.35-1.4

no idea what your memory should be but if you leave it around 800mhz you can leave them on stock

oh enable 'load line calibration ' if you have it (could be called voltage damping )

1.4 With a 3.2 sounds high to me,im at 3.2 with 1.3v-c.I think your n-b and s-b are fine i wouldtry to lower v-c or up the fsb for more o/c's.What are you after as far as o/c.

What is your VID? 1.4v for only 3.2Ghz is really bad, you should be at 1.3-1.35.

Your prime errors could be due to memory limitations.

What is your FSB strap? At 3.2GHz, you should be using a 266MHz strap.

I have a question about your rig- I can't get 3.6 stable at all below about 1.48vcore. Is your VID really low? Mine is 1.2625, and I find that it's not that great for OC. I'm kind of stuck as far as that goes right now, I can run 3.85 nearly stable, but I have to go right to 1.5v to do it. Between 3.6 and 3.85, nothing is stable at all. Granted, I'm staying at 10x multi and changing FSB speed, but at 400+ FSB (9x) stability is sketchy. Maybe it's the difference in boards, I don't know. There is a huge vdroop with this board--at 1.48v, the voltage will drop to 1.42 under load.

My vid is the same 1.2625 witch is a decent vid.The newer ones are over 1.3ish.I have no trouble at 3.6 with 1.375 v-c and can boot into vista at 3.8 but im not trying to run that high just bored and tryed it.3.6 and load temps are 60c ish.

well 72C is the max on those G0s, personally i would try and stay within high 50s and low 60s. Nice fan, should be able to take that.

3.2 is fine I would like 3.6 - 3.8

Seems 3.6 is stable it seems but my NB is running 57 Celsius. CPU is load 52-53 while testing on Prime95. How hot should the NB be? What is too hot?

*Update* Running P95 for 30 min now, seems stable.

Clock: 3.6GHz
Multi: 9
FSB: 400
vCore: 1.45
CPU Pll: 1.60
NB: 1.35
DRAM: 2.1V
FSB Term: 1.36
SB: Auto
Strap: 266 (might be 333 I forgot to write that one down)
Load Line Calibration Enabled

(If this errors at any time in 12-24 hours I will cry.)

*Another Edit*
6 hours running Prime95, with above stats. No errors, CPU is 50-60 degrees Celsius NB is around 50-55 degrees Celsius, no errors. The Tuniq Tower 120 is staying cool and blowing cool air, love this thing.

you might be able to knock the vcore down if you up the cpu pll to 1.70v

what are your ambient room temps ?
and what was the vid of the chip ?
