Gigabyte X38 ds4 Issue

I have the X38 ds4 and i am unable to overclock the cpu (Q6600 kentsfield).
The probelm is that every time i enable the cpu host control it will not post properly. it will start to post then stop and restart and then turn off the cpu host control any ideas

Current setup

gigabyte x38 ds4
Q6600 quad core
Corsair xms2 pc2 6400 800mhz match pair
winfast nvidia 8600gt 512mb

You need to give more info for anyone to help. As much info as possible. Components blah blah Fill THIS out.

Its rejecting the settings. Either too tight Latencies with your ram or not enough voltage for Ram, CPU. In most cases it rejects the bios settings for these reasons and gives you standard reset.

Be a good idea to post all the tweaker settings in your Bios.

ALSO, what OC are you trying to reach?

When i o/c mine it starts and stops 1 or twice then boots fine.I you have to much of an o/c it will just stop.Hit the psu switch press pwr button turn psu swich back on hit pwr switch 2 times it will boot up but you mite of went back to devaults.

what the hell is the cpu host controller i had this mobo and it was by far the easiest mobo ever made to oc with

All i do is up fsb set ram to 2.0 i have 1000mhz ram tho,turn up the huch to .50 v-c to 1.3 and im at 3.2 with no issues.

phillip i guess you now the "cpu host controller" is what enables to be able alta the fsb
if you link you can even see it in the manual on the gigabyte website for this board
X39 ds4 and i know the boards easy to overclock. Its the fact the dar thing will not let me change to manual fsb with out resting on the post screen adn it beginning to got on my nerves. i already sent on of these motherbaords back to gigabyte due to the ide controler being screwed
