Heatsink advise

Hi

I'm looking to build a new pc but am not sure which heatsink to go for. I will be overclocking but also want the pc to be quiet. So which is better, the TRUE or the Xigmatek HDT-S1283? Also if I go for the TRUE then I will need a quiet fan aswell. I was thinking of maybe a noctua. Any good?

What is your budget?
How much will do you plan on overclocking?
What do you define as quiet? Silent, Near Silent, Murmur?

Either the S-1283 or the OCZ Vendeta are the best for the money.
the True is great, but at a premium price where as the above two will match it for less money.

HDT-S1283 is the current best bang for the buck cooler. The TRUE only performs a degree or less better than the HDT-S1283. The stock fan on the S1283 is pretty quiet as well.

I don't really have a budget but the cheaper the better. I don't mind paying extra if it's worth it. If it's only 1 degree difference between the xigmatek and the TRUE then I'll go for the cheaper xigmatek. I will be getting an e7200 and would like to overclock it to ~3.6 ghz. I'm still undecided about what case to get but have read the antec P182 is a good quiet case. What's the cooling like though?

I will also be getting an 8600gt silent edition (passively cooled) to make the pc quieter, this should play games at mid setting yes?

So is a 3.6 ghz overclock likely with the set up I'm about to buy? I would like it as near to silent as possible.

Thanks for the help.

HDT-1283 and OCZ Vendetta 2 are about equal with these differences:
HDT-1283 = $10 cheaper
OCZ Vendetta 2 = quieter

True is better but more $ and no fan included, more work also.

What case will you be using as well? Certain coolers will perform better in cases with better airflow...and others perform well in cases without. Also - Have you picked any of your other components? There is no need to go overkill if you don't need to.

I haven't ordered the parts yet but this is what I'm thinking of getting:

CPU - Intel E7200
CPU Cooler - ?
CPU and case fan - ?
Case - Antec P182
PSU - Corsair 650w TX
MB - Gigabyte P35 DS3L
Graphics - MSI 8600GT Silent edition
HDD - Samsung SpinPoint 500gb
DVD-RW - Samsung SH-S223F 22X
Ram - Corsair 4GB 800mhz

Ok I've read a few reviews on heatsinks and found that the xigmatek actually beats the TRUE on lower airflow. It also costs about £10 less. I think I'll change the fan though for a better one. I've read good things about noctua's and slipstream's. Which is better though?
