Hey guys, I didint have any problem fiting my Zalman 9700LED on my board and fits very nicly in my case with lost of room.
I love this board no problems runing solid (for now) I had Striker Extreme 680i die after bios update CPUINTI error than Striker Formula 780i after 3 weeks while playing COD4 shuts dowm and never come alive.
I think I'm gone try OC my E8400 a bit.

I am confident that I am connecting the right drive... marked with a sharpy long ago! (Besides, I doubted myself and tried connecting each of the drives one at a time and only that one worked.)

BTW, We Gone, Since you are using an Antec 900 why not rotate the Zalman 90 deg to exhaust out the top of the case. IMHO, firing the fan toward the rear just spreads the heat around inside the case while the 200cm fan at the top (since heat rises anyway) would get rid of it out the top of the case. Just a suggestion.

Mozzie, thanks for the update.

Not running the 9700 anymore, Changed it to a True 120 extreme dissipates the heat better under load. and I did try the 9700 both ways got the same temps, I am running 3-120s in the front 1-side 1-rear and a 3000rpm 120,130cfm on my cooler.

Guys, I know this isn't the air cooling forum. But, my question is specific to the Rampage Formula.

Anyway, I read a review on this website, about the OCZ Vendetta 2. According to their benchmarks, this HSF is about equal to a lapped, pressure modded TRUE! I am all for not haveing to lap (and possibly getting more performance if I do). But there is some question about it fitting on the Rampage Formula?

So the question is: Has anyone seen one of these units, the Vendetta 2 that is, and if so, would it fit on an Intel LGA 775 CPU? We Rampage Formula users have a pretty large set of heatsinks and heatpipes to contend with.

Any details or photos would be helpful.

I will post more tomorrow, I don't have the rampage in yet, just some quick benches with the 4870. At 790/925 and a 3.6GHz Q6600 I pulled 17K+ in 3d06 and P9K+ in 3DV, more to come, especially once I make the change to the x48 board.

Problem solved! The BIOS was looking for the boot drive to be connected to the lowest number SATA port. Connecting my C drive to SATA 1 allowed me to connect all the other drives and start Vista.

Man this BIOS has a lot of options. My gigabyte board only had about half the RAM timings and very few of the voltages were settable. I didn't know how much I was doing without. I just wish there were more SATA ports.

Definetly a great feature set with the board and BIOS.

more? 6 isn't enough? You need to invest in a RAID card.

I picked up my board yesterday. All I can say is...wow, very nice packaging (except for the typo on the back that says it is using the x38 chipset), I had to double take a few times, because I was about to go bat turd on someone for sending me the wrong board...but it is a Rampage, and the front of the box has the x48 express chipset logo/symbol.

I like that Asus used the plastic board package, I was never a fan of how the P5K deluxe was just stuffed in a anti-stat bag in the bottom of the box, with all the other bits and bobs floating around.

STALKER came free, a 3D06 Advanced Key (that I already own) not sure if the software is on the disc or not, Kapersky AV, drivers, etc. The board looks like hot geek sex. It weighs a ton, I cannot wait to start tearing out the guts of my rig to put this gorgeous monster inside. I got this from a local shop for $50 less than TD and Newegg had it at the time. Something to be said occasionally for the local shop guys.
You are gonna love the board. It is solid as can be. Not sure if you have a soundcard, but the one they include is pretty damn good. The crazy thing about this board is what you see in the bios and than what it can handle. Just a bunch of different ways to OC. You can go the easy way and just let the bios choose the OC for you, or you can go manual. Even with the stock intel cooler, I OC from 3 to 3.7 and the temp on the CPU and MB barely goes up. Great pick up, you will dig it.

I'll piddle myself with joy if I can eek out 3.8GHz on my quad with my TRUE. That's my first main goal, I think I can do that. The P5K suffered at the hands of vdroop even with the LLC enabled. I also love the tRD control features, about time someone put that in, serious bandwidth gains to be had there.

Get ready to piss yourself then. Hell, you could get those clocks with a stock cooler.
