A top-notch MP3 player is only half of the audio equation. No matter what your budget, we've got the 'phones to maximize your listening experience

The featureless face in this picture is not a department store mannequin—it's our new testing system for headphones and earphones. Manufactured by HEAD Acoustics, in Germany, the ACQUA system and HMS II.3 head and torso simulator consists of a life-size human head with measurement microphones placed in each ear, roughly where the eardrums would be. It's all connected to a computer and an outboard box that sends audio signals to earphones sitting in the artificial ears. The output of the earphones is then measured by the internal microphones, and the results are displayed in graphs and data sets in the software. (Be sure to check out the video feature to see the testing in action.)
Got my eyes on Etymotic ER4 and Sennheiser PX100

I have the Etymotic Er6's and I love them. Great sound and they block outside noise so they work awesome on planes.

the sad thing is that most people would be amazed if they ripped their cd's in flac which sounds sooooo much better than the best mp3 quality.

SZayat I keep looking at the ER4's too. I personally would reccomend the PX200 over the PX100. I have both and the PX200 sound too heavy in the bass.

I have an Altec Lansing headset which I bought for about 50 USD and they have served me well for over a year now.
