Questions for overclocking E8200 - Page 2

ok from an e8200 owner, make sure your n/b is arounf 1.4, and your ram has enough v.
you should get 450 fsb easy enough. i think im on 1.27 at the moment at 3.7ghz.
had to drop it back after it went unstable at 3.8 lol was having start up issues but i think it was n/b voltage problem and heat build up seems to be sorted now. temps seem a bit high. mine never goes over 50 -52 on full stress.

By N/b do you mean NorthBridge ?
I have the Asus P5K-SE mobo (P35 NorthBridge). What would be a max safe voltage for my NorthBridge ?
What about my RAM ? Is it safe to go up to 2.2V or should I keep it at 2.1V max ?

Concerning the temps. I just noticed that I forgot to mention my ambient/room temperature which is at 27 to 28C.

you need to check and see what the ram is rated at ?
Then adjust as required.

Yes the n/b is the north bridge

Yeah same thing here Parrot i had to up the N/B to 1.4 to be stable @ 3.7 and 1.3 Vcore and 62c under load
Anything above 3.7 and mine likes to chew up volts on the vcore real quick.

I am running 24/7 with those settings.
Your getting there Tera just watch those temps mate.

Ok I am at 3.00Ghz (FSB 375) with:
- Vcore: 1.2 (set in BIOS).
- Ambient temp: 28C.
- CPU Load temps: 44 - 46 C.
- VDimm: 1.80 (set in BIOS).
- Memory Timings: 5-5-5-15.
- PCI Express locked to 100MHz.

The system was stable after running Orthos for 60 minutes.

I'm going to increase the FSB and adjust VCore and VDimm accordingly as needed.
Will keep you guys posted.
