thats what happens when you underestimate the competition. you get pwned. even with a die shrink the GTX2XX series still is going to be expensive to make and thats not happening for now anyway. that $90 is only to the board partners, the retail price drop will likely be much less. expect to see a lot of MIRs either way. if AMD can hold the 4870X2s price to $500 its a surefire slamdunk for them. nvidia would need to push the price of the GTX280 to <$450 to compete. this was supposed to be their top end product and its on the verge of being dead before its even been on the shelves a month.
