[tgdaily] Study claims Windows usage market share could fall below 90% soon - Page 4

Yes, there's lots of things that can be done with a computer. If a person can get all that done on some other OS, then that's great for them. I myself would love to use Linux only if I could. However, most games are released for Windows only, and so I'm stuck. Gaming is one of the things that I personally want to do with my computer.

At least I've never had to pay one red cent for Windows - and yes, it's legal. Windows Feedback Program FTW.

You can share files easily among OSX, Linux, UNIX, windows...

This has been around for a while with the help of Samba.

Wait, do you mean pirating/"casually sharing" programs? I don't exactly depend on sharing software with my friends to get it. In fact, all of my software is free, so pirating isn't an issue for me at least...

Realistically, why would anyone want to buy an Apple? So they can pay inflated prices...for what exactly?

That's not to say that they don't have quality in their product, but why pay 2-3 times the price for the same functionality (gaming aside)?

Personally, I think the extra money is probably to pay for Steve Jobs' surgery. You know, the one he needs to finally get that knife out of his back that Bill Gates stabbed him with all those years ago. . .
Finally...

That figure is not correct. The reality is that they cost around $100-200 more, if any at all (in some cases, they are even cheaper than PCs). We're not talking about custom builds, of course, just make note of that. And after factoring that apple computers don't come preloaded with adware and junk but instead come with a media suite (iLife) and even an IDE (Integrated Developing Environment, Xcode is the name of it), the price gap closes in quite a bit.

That aside, some people simply prefer the OS. Personally speaking, I find desktop work much easier to do on a Mac. The environment gives me access to everything I need the way I want it to. You probably don't understand; I'd need you to sit with me to show you exactly what I mean. Gaming aside, I prefer this OS.

You asked to understand why someone would buy a Mac... Hopefully I helped.

It makes perfect sense. Just because a product doesn't suit you doesn't mean it's the worst thing in the world. You don't have to hate it just because it doesn't tickle your pickle.

Dude, seriously, did you make an account here just to promote Apple? Or do you just not play games on the PC? The number of PC games created in is the tens of thousands, not the ~300 list you posted.

To be honest I have been a Windows User because of the following and im sure the same goes for alot of people.

1. Windows is User friendly. Im not saying something like Linux isnt but I have found that at times its not as ''Simple'' as Windows. Such I have found sometimes you have to go the long way round about things in Linux whereas in Windows it can sometimes be a little more simple due to IMO a better Interface.

2. For Gamers...Well Windows is nearly a must. Windows simply has the MOST support when it comes to Games and multimedia applications.

The above two points are huge in the long scheme of things as people will always want a simple interface that works. So in a Gamers view Windows is alot easier to use than something like Linux.

This is just my VERY brief opinion on it. I could go on for ages but I cannot as I am at work lol.

Like I said this is just my view...for everyone else it will differ.
