allright this is my first post so hi guys
i have a thermaltake amor lcs case cooling a q6600 and im am about to watercool my 3 8800gtx's and my mobo which is a 780i. i have thought a a wc system but bear with me as its problyass wacked up. i will replace the cpu block with a dtek fuzion v2(think thats what it is) and run the viperjohn kit on my mobo off the case 240 rad (thermaltake amour lcs kit). i will then put a 360 rad in for the 3 8800gtxs. i will use the dangerdan blocks for them and am wondering what rad to use . am thinking of a thermochill PA360 or DD black ice extreme or sumthing. for the pump i might use a mcp335. will that be enough? any suggestions? like what barbs and hose size should i use?
thanks guys

I would not use the thermaltake armor kit with the Fuzion V2. The Fuzion is copper and the TT kit is aluminum bad things happen there. You might be able to use the pump and then replace just the rad with a 240, but IMO that isn't enough to cool a quad and a NB. I also, don't think the pump could handle the restriction.

I know nothing about GPU cooling so I'll leave here.

thanks so a PA would be ok? and do i need to change the pump?

Here's what I would suggest at a minimum to cool the CPU and the Mobo.

Rad

Pump

Fans

Your already on the right path with the Fuzion V2 for a block. I would also suggest you make a shroud for the fans, cut the centers out of junk 120 by 25 mm fans works okay 38 mm fans are better. Then place the fans so they pull air through the rad versus a push it through.

You might be able to use a single GTX480 to cool the whole thing, CPU, Mobo and GPU's but you may need to run another pump in series.

MCP 355 is a great pump as long as you get a pump top to go with it. if you don't want to bother with that, you could get the D5 vario, or MCP 655 as swiftech rebranded it.

And the PA radiators are great. If you don't mind a little bit of noise, I would recommend getting the black ice GTX series radiators as they outperform the PA rads with 47cfm+ fans. I would go with some nice 38mm thickness panaflos.

oh and by the way a 360 will cool all 3 gpu's? and how many loops would i need
post #8 of 16
If you went with another 360, which I would suggest as your GPU's would dump a ton of heat, you need two separate loops.

ok so you suggest 2 dd blackice 360 rads to cool all my equipment and 2 MCP 655 pumps what res would i need 2 seperate or a joint one for both pumps thanks for all this imput by the way
post #10 of 16
You would need 2 reservoirs or 2 T lines.

Sharing the same res would defeat the purpose of having 2 loops.

I use 2 swiftech micro reservoirs in my loop, they're pretty good.
