Who the hell cares?

I myself and 2/3's of the rest of us are very interested in this stuff. BTW what do you think those probes are made from? Computers, whoda thunk it.

That's very interesting. My life long goal is to eventually ateast go above the atmosphere. It may be possable in 30+ years who knows. I'd imagine is 30 or so we'll have colonies on the moon and or mars at that time period.

Well, last time I checked, there's no rules *against* posting anything technology/science-related, so...

well....see, the goal is to how far we can make an overclock possible. If we were able to oc the processor on that puppy, to, lets say, 133Mhz? Then we can play, with a wireless keyboard and mouse, Counter-Strike from billions of light years away! It'll be logitech's goal of wireless technology!

Btw, this is pretty interesting. Seems like another step forward to understanding our universe.

lol.

interesting is an understatement, i find this stuff fascinating.

who cares if its not overclocking, its cool

the spaceship computers could be overclocked for all we know.

Yeap, our little corner is just that. A LITTLE corner, microscopic on the scheme of things. I'd bet my life that theres life out there aside from us - and I'm being serious.

I'm confident that within this century "man" will indeed build a spacecraft capable of travel within our own starsystem. Artificial gravity is in deed posable and in it's infancy as we know how to create it.

Heck "cloaking" tech, energy shields and energy weapons are also possable and have been done, granted it's in it's EXTREME infancy and far from practical now, but it has been accomplished on some scale. Scientists have also "beamed" atoms across a small distance as well. All this is possable and will happen in time. How much time is anyones guess. Heck think of the micro processor. Started out some 60 years ago and look at it now. We've progressed so far in the 20th century its astounding. Never before has human kind progressed so quickly as we had in the 20th century.

Granted it will probably be 60+ years before we break the speed of light, but I bet you anything it will happen one way or another. There are many thoughts as how to acomplish this, like folding space and time, or normal propulsion.

All this stuff seems mind boggling now but if you think about it, if man kind continues to progress as rapidly as we have this stuff isn't too fare off. I'd say we'll see more practicle versions of some of what I mentioned by the end of this gernations life time.
