That shot of the case with the window installed. Man that's tight. Way to take a class case and maintain its style in spades.

Very very nice.

Day 22 Pt.1

so.. i am getting rid of my CCFLs and i'm going to use LEDs instead..

here are holders for 3mm LEDs. the LEDs will be UV.

here it is..

crappy huh? i thought it would work better but i might have used too high of a resistor. i'll try it with white LEDs and see how that works. if those work better then i'll keep it with that. if not.. then i'll switch to 5mm LEDs and try UV first again then white. though i feel like i should skip straight to 5mm LEDs... what do you guys think?

hmm.. i'm also thinking about adding 2 more LEDs... i'll do that next weekend. so i can finish this up.
another thing about the fluid.. it isn't as UV reactive as some other ones... so do take that into account.

did you calculate the exact resistor that you need? Because all LEDs need different amounts of power.

Keep in mind that UV LEDs and UV CCFLs do not produce much visible light compared to their non-UV counterparts; they are more to cause UV reactive items to glow.

hehe, yea, i did calculate what resistor i needed. so i don't think that was the problem.. i honestly think its that the fluid for some odd reason doesn't react well (even though it should) and that there isn't enough LEDs to make it look nice.

yea.. i do understand that it isn't as visible but i just don't get why my fluid doesn't react that well... i think its time to empty out the loop and try new fluid.

Day 22 Pt.2

so i did a little something after my LED thing.... i made a mini 24pin atx. as you can see its really messing and small. i don't plan on sleeving it as its a real pita.

here it is connected.

so my comp would start up and i would get past bios post... but no windows.. hmm... what could be wrong?? i found out that the atx pin setup for this da750 is totally different from the 24pin setup for my da1200.. weird huh? so i redid the wires... and now i'm posting from my comp again. with this, the sidepanel isn't bulging as much and its much cleaner than before. i forgot to take a picture of the back. i'll do that in a bit.

and on a side note... i'm going straight to 5mm LEDs. i'll be using 5 LEDs instead of 3 too so this should work out much better than the puny 3x 3mm LEDs. i'll also be changing out fluids once i get those done.
