Day 26

i'm done! well with the wiring anyhow! still makes me really happy.

so here is the 24pin atx all done now! wee!! you see a slight hole in one of the orange wires cause my heat gun got to it.. i'm ok with it for now... i'll deal with it later cause if i do deal with it. i have to mess with two wires not just one.

just an overview of what other wires were redone.

the espv 8pin connector

2x pcie connectors

here is a view of the back now. less wires or looks like it.

the barracuda was blocking airflow to second card so i switched it out for a xonar dx. i had to redo some wiring because of that.

the sound is amazing too. much better than the barrcuda!

That's awesome. The new sleeving work came out great!

Did you double up the wires on your 24 pin? I was thinking about doing that.

thanks war! glad to know you that it looks good. now about the sleeving, yea.. i used 2 wires per sleeving instead of 1 each. i felt that 1 each felt way too clustered. so i did 2 each for most of the wires that are visible. i did it for the molex connectors too (well the ones that had 4 wires anyway). on the 24pin, there is actually 1 wire that has its own sleeving and thats the one under the "missing pin"/"empty space" on the connector. other than that, everything is sleeved by 2 wires.

Day 27

so i finally got to adding that 2nd gpu into the loop. sadly, i i had to use 2x L fittings to get it to work. actually more than just 2x L fittings. 4x 45 degree fittings too (but atleast those have little to no restriction)

a shot of the gpus

i've also redid the order of my loop. as now, the pumps are right after each other. so my loop is now:

res-pump -> pump-> rad-> cpu -> gpu1 -> gpu2-> back to res-pump

a shot of the DDC top.

res-pump.

cpu block

and i redid the drain line too. you see a Q fitting with a 45 degree fitting. the middle portion is to the cpu block with a ball valve to shut it off and redirect the flow to the drain line up above it. i would've done it differently but there was no room.

and a final shot of everything.

i promise i'll get those UV LEDs done sometime soon.

it started off around $1.5K... i'm going to assume... atleast another $500. so lets say $2K+. (but thats including these i haven't used yet either)

hahah... never intended to keep on modding it like i have though. but it has gone in a better direction. servicing is alot easier now and it looks much cleaner so no complaints frome me.

thanks nate! i never really thought of that as a gradient. haha. though i have to say that the white LED looks more blue than white in the pictures.. i'll have to deal with the white balance.
