Day 8

since my last update, i've take apart my loop and cleaned them again and re did the layout for the pumps. it should work out better this time with the tubes not as restricted at some points. and this time you can see the res-top pump closer now! i've relocated the cathodes to their original positions and found out that i was using the wrong inverter. i had two. one for two 4 inchers and one for the two 12 inchers. you can guess which one i was using when i took the picture. haha. in anycase (no pun intended), it should work and look better than before.

i'm also receiving my gpu block back from petras, after one of my screws broke, tomorrow. that i'm still waiting on an rma for my 8800gt for my sig rig. i've ordered some new tubing too cause i've realized that i need more than i have.

enough chit-chat. on with the show! ok, so i made some time to do a bit of the side panel. here it is taped and measured out for the cutting.

here is the mirror acrylic taped and measured for cutting too.

4 holes since i want the acrylic to have round edges to follow suit of the case. i'll be using small bolts and nuts to attach the acrylic. there will be no u channel so... hehe, i can't screw up at all. ;D i don't have picture right now but i actually cut the acrylic already and sanded the side down so its straight and smooth. as you can see in this picture, i have one side of the panel cut... BUT, as i was cutting the opposite side, my dremel decided to die on me. so its time for a new dremel. the side panel should be done by the end of this weekend.

Day 9

so i said that my dremel died thus i went out and got myself some new toys. 4 clamps and one new rotozip. but when i got home, i found out that my dremel had only overheated. instead of going back and returning my new toy. i opened it up and went to work and DANG! that thing works soo much faster and better. cut through that aluminum 10x faster than i would have with my dremel. i'm in love with it already.

after cutting, i started sanding and grinding. in the picture it looks decently straight but when i'm up close. it bugs the crap out of me so more sanding/grinding we go. but i got tooo zealous and my hand slipped and i kind of scratched an area as you can see. its the bottom line that is sticking out. anyone know how i can fix this? would a little polish work?

here is a close up of the scuff. its not deep but yea... help please!

well, now i'm just waiting for my gpu block today and then leak testing we go!

edit1: i got my gpu block! here it is just out of the box! looks freaking sexy. i had a problem with the screws last time, i think i mentioned that but i can't really recall. anyway, time to clean the beaut.

here are my buckets, one filled with distilled/vinegar mixture and the other with just distilled.

after taking it apart, even the the inside is beautiful.

and into the bucket it goes to soak for a few minutes. then into the other bucket it goes for a some minutes too. then i emptied the bucket and added fresh distilled into to get rid of even more of the vinegar.

and here it is, all nice and clean waiting to dry then after that, i'll be setting up the loops tomorrow when i get my new tubings tomorrow from sidewinders. so we'll be in for a fun filled day tomorrow!

edit2:
here is a mock setup with stuff inside. on the backside there is going to be a DD acetal t- with a fillport for emptying the loop when needed. makes life simpler you know?

and just for the heck of it, the weather outside my apartment. would you believe me if i said it was snowing? its very sunny outside as this is happening, i kind of covered the lens cause the sun was in the way. its just a random thunder storm.

as i'm posting this, i've taped the round corner from edge to edge.. and found all the areas where it need to be straightened.. to prevent what had happened before. i just took some files and went to work. i have no straightened the thing as much as i can at the moment. looks alot better. right now, i still don't want to use c/u channel but we'll see as time goes by.

edit: my gpu block is here! i'll take pictures and post in a bit!

edit2: its in previous post.
