networking problems with my somewhat server

Ok I'm using my old "gaming pc" as a multipurpose server streaming media to my box 360 and its also a torrent box I remote connect to this pc also but my problem is whenever I have utorrent open during the day I made a scheduler on utorrent so it only downloads at the times its suppose to. I leave it open log out from logmein.com and start playing team fortress 2. I'm playing then all of a sudden I get 1500 ping!!!!! so within 10 minutes of finally exiting out of team fortress 2 xfire begins to disconnect so I log back in as soon as I do that it disconnects me again so I got to logmein and try to remote connect to the pc and it keeps on giving me connection was interrupted so I went into the computer room to turn it off and turn it back on but this gets really annoying when I'm at my moms 30 miles away. and also when I was able to get on my server to see why im lagging so bad and nothing was downloading so I turned the pc off and never got a problem but I was to fix that!

Can anyone tell me how to fix that utorrent problem like have the program close right when the download is done??
Is there different remote connect software I can use to get on my pc even with utorrent open?
I probably have more questions but to tired to remember

There are many alternatives to logmein.com, you could setup and use a version of VNC. I personally like UltraVNC quite a bit. You could also use standard windows remote desktop. You need to make sure that the port is forwarded to the correct computer for both of those. As for shutting utorrent down when it is done downloading, in version 1.7.7 there is a tab under options that is titled Auto Shutdown which gives you lots of options including closing the program upon completion as well as actually shuting down your pc. Hope that helps.
