Upgrades worth it?

Thread Starter
I've been working more hours at my job and have some good money coming in... question is whether to upgrade or would it be a waste? Only ideas I came up with are a bigger lcd monitor and maybe a gpu step up.

I'd say upgrade your monitor to a 22'' or 24''. A 8800GT is still very good at those resolutions. Also consider getting a sound card and nice speakers if you listen to music a lot. I have to say that the Z-5300e's is the best investment I have made for my rig.

You really don't need any upgrades unless you want to splurge and just have the extra power all just because you can .

I think you should upgrade your monitor AND graphics card... Get one of those new fancy ATI cards, you probably won't regret it. The sound card upgrade is something that I myself have been pondering recently, but can't convince myself to buy into just yet.

I would definitely go for the monitor first and maybe the Vid card soon after, but you might want to wait 4-5 months and see if prices drop at all on this generation of cards.
