New 8800 GT - smooth until... BSOD

Thread Starter
Ok so i got my new 8800 GT installed and everything worked perfectly fine for about 5 hours, i gamed, i enjoyed, i lived, i loved. Then it happened... I was just browsing around the net showing my bro something and BOOM! PC froze... next thing i know the infamous Blue Screen of Death pops up and im forced to restart. Now im here, scared & dissapointed.

Could it be drivers, or do i got a bad card?

Help is much appreciated, rep+ to all advice givers

Thank you

Could be a number of things.....what happend when the BSOD came about? did the comp just freeze? How heavely are you OC'd? Did the display have jagged artifacts from diagonal to diagonal?

there are a couple of programs that will monitor temps including your GPU, rivatuner and speedfan are 2 that I have used.

Rivatuner 2.09: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=163

Speedfan: http://www.almico.com/speedfan434.exe

Rivatuner is also an nvidia overclocking tool that will give you control of the fan speed so you can override automatic fan settings and set it to whatever you desire and also can make fan profiles that you can save, like 40% fan on 2D desktop, then in 3D gaming to 80% etc.

Speedfan is a temp monitoring and fan control software that will detect your nvidia core and give the temp.
