The links are in this thread already. Someone even posted a link to the recent Daily Show where they spoofed it.

I didn't read the entire thread. Call me stupid but isn't PC gaming sells helping out MS in the same way that XBox sells are? It's a win/win situation if you ask me. I personally make all Xbox 360 games released for the PC as well. I'd use something along the lines of steam to keep pirating down a bit and decrease the price of the game on pc since I no longer have to pay stocking and shipping fees.

Well, if it was really up to me everything would be on pc. I wouldn't even care if I had to give say Nintendo 250 dollars for a wii pc drive that would allow me to play wii games and connect a wii remote to my pc.

No, because for Xbox 360 software there's a licensing fee that is paid to Microsoft in order to sell a game for 360 (or maybe it's just to develop for 360, I'm not completely sure). There is no such equivalent for Windows games. This is part of the reason console games are $10 more than PC games when they first come out.

I know many people have said this before but its something that should have been obvious for a gaming OS.
I have to agree with this,an awesome idea.Maybe you should be prompted with this when you login and if you want to switch back to normal just re-login and choose normal mode.

How are they directly competeing with themselves on the xbox 360.

Thats like saying proctor and gamble is stupid for having so many products in the same catagorey

People either buy a game for PC or 360. MS still gets money.

MS doesn't agree with your logic, they prefer rabid illogical reasoning;

Quote:
On a global scale the Windows Vista business is as important as our Xbox 360 business. But in Germany for example, we want more gamers to buy our Xbox 360. If we launch a game that is on 360 and PC simultaneously, we basically shoot ourselves in the foot by allowing the German market to choose to play the PC version – because they are more likely to buy that than spend their money on the Xbox 360. On a global scale the PC is very relevant to us. And I would say that 90 per cent of the games that are pitched to us are on console. We're strongly perceived as a console publisher because we're the first-party publisher even though the Windows operating system is equally important to us. If we launched a Halo game on PC and 360 in Germany simultaneously, 80 per cent of sales would be on the PC. So we need to pick and choose our formats.

Q: So you're admitting that the Xbox 360 is the priority, because you don't want to lose console sales.

Peter Zetterberg: No, they're equally important. The PC has a much wider use, it's so established, it's so dominating already so in some territories we need to make the games for the 360 to increase the sales there.

Matthew White: It also depends on the game concept. A lot of games work on both platforms, but when you're working on a game from a creative point of view it helps to envisage people playing the game on one platform. When you're working on a game for multiple platforms that vision isn't quite the same. When you're working on a game you can imagine people playing solo or co-op in their living rooms, but it's a different picture when you imagine them playing on a PC. When I'm working on a game that's what I'm thinking about – the end result. How is a gamer going to be feeling playing through this experience? When we think about the games we want to make we have to bear in mind that end result because it's played in an end environment that we don't control.
Let me translate for you. 'we spent so much money R&Ding this thing, and now we're selling the hardware at a loss; we need to con people into buying our console for games, then allow developers to port the games six months later (Gears of War, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, soon GTA IV, what have you) to squeeze some out of the guys who didn't fall for our trick.'
