All air cooling...how to get real temps

post #1 of 8
Thread Starter
OK several ppl have told me my temps seem too low....

CPU = 17-18 Idle and about 27 load
GPU = 36Idle in game = 44 or so not exact on the number

I have stock cooling + 1x120mm and 3 x80mm

I keep my place cool i got my air set at 64 but i dont think its really 64 more like 67 or so.

I use Speedfan, Pcwiazrd, Bios, all say the same temps

So how do i find out true temp? if there too low?

Here is screen shot of PCwizard and Speedfan(bottom right)
http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/3852/pchomeur3.png

So why i show show so low temps and bios reads same way?

You may need to add 15c with speed fan i know you do with certain chips. NOt sure which ones though i know you do with the q6600. If your chip has tdj of 100 then you do.

Your idle temps should be +5c to 9c over ambient, they can't be the same or lower.
17c = 62.6 f
18c = 64.4 f

Is your case left open perhaps? I did notice that my temps dropped about 5c just by opening my case 24/7. Still that is really low and speedfan isnt accurate for me at all. I need to add 10c to get my real temp.
