A new digital delivery service in Japan is giving Nintendo DS owners on-the-go access to manga, novels, and animated shows and films.

DSvision is based on a special adapter and microSD card that holds content purchased online on your PC, which you can transfer to the DS via an included USB reader.

Media content sold through the official DSvision web portal will range from 100 to 1,000 yen ($1-10).

A 20-minute animated episode (with a size of around 40-45MB) of Tatsunoko series like Yattaman or Speed Racer will currently run you 210 yen ($2).

Various volumes of manga (around 200 pages at 30MB) are selling for 315 yen ($3), with a few starting chapters available for free.

The service launched today, and the DSvision starter kit -- which includes the adapter, the card reader, and a 512MB microSD card -- is available in stores all over Japan and retails for 3,980 yen ($40).
