Anyone been successful overclocking the 4850, then running 3dmark without it crashing? "The Idirect3device9:resent failed: Device" Lost BS

I haven't been able to accomplish this, even with very modest overclocking..

I had this, then turned out that you need the latest hotfix from the futuremark site, it affects 03, 05 & 06 (IIRC)

EDIT #1: Feb 08 Hotfix

EDIT #2: I used to get around 6k with my E4500 @ 2.2GHz and a XFX 8600GT XXX @ 720/900. I now get 11900 with my E4500 @ 3.02GHz and a 4850 @ 700/1050

Actually what stopped this problem for me was putting an Accelero on. I guess with the stock heatsink any kind of overclocking really screwed it up heatwise, even with fan at 100%

your score seems low. I get 12241 with my setup,

I get about 11,4XX, seems a tad low for my rig compared to some people. Overclocking the card doesn't seem to make a difference either.

Just got my Sapphire 4850 yesterday, waiting on thermal tape to install Accelero S1.
With AMD GPU Clock Tool and ATI Hotfix drivers I pulled the following 3Dmark 06 scores:

Bone Stock w/CPU @ 3.5Ghz.....1285
GPU @ 730/1200 CPU @ 4Ghz....14173

My 6600 Quad should beat this score by 2K as it's cpu score is double the e7200.

P5KC's run 16x/4x. I still haven't seen a validation screenshot from jaba as well.
As for overclocking ability...my old used to get a HUGE vdroop under load. I could not manage to get my Q6600 past 3.2ghz because of it.

Not trying to bring jaba down or anything, just wanted to let you know before you go out and spend money on something without knowing its full story.

Hmm my Sapphire 4850 680 core 1100 memory got 13600 for 3DMARK 06.

Not bad . However even my 8800GTS 640mb got 11500 so the jump isnt massive.

Getting 17,659 score with 3DMark06 on Foxconn P35A and E8400 OC 4Ghz CF 3850's OC 660/1060. Waiting to get RMA Asus Maximus Formula back for more OC testing and pretty sure I can get it higher.
